I’m worried about my younger cousins. My one cousin Brendan, he just turned 18. As children we were good friends and had lots of great times together. We don’t hang out really anymore but we still get along well though we don’t see each other as much. We have a lot of the same interests and similar personalities. But anyway, he’s a really good natured kid. He always has been. But lately he hasn’t been doing well. He’s been skipping school and slacking off in his studies. He’s not doing drugs or drinking or anything bad like that. He just has no sense of direction and no motivation. Ultimately, he’s depressed because he’s been lovesick over a girl who just recently left the island. He’s devastated. He’s been crying, leaving the house just to go for walks, he even smashed his phone. It makes me really sad that he’s so hurt and lost. I guess I feel like he’s my little brother and I just want to console him. His parents don’t really do anything to help him. Though we’re not as close as we used to be, I wish I could just give him a hug and talk him through it.
And to add more drama to the household, his sister Mary who is about a year or two younger than him is in some trouble too. She’s one who’s into partying. She’s done something to anger a group of kids that have been egging their house lately, and she’s really upset about it.
Meh, these kids. I keep hearing my mom talking about them and my maternal instincts just want to take care of them XP
